Welcome to Eie Flud, our corner of the United Kingdom, in Leicestershire - the very heart of England.
The name Eie Flud arrived as a flash of inspiration after seeing an old and beautiful map hanging in Harrods, London.
The direct lift from that Anglo-Saxon map, marked the name for the small River Eye which meanders through the fertile, open vales, from where the historic market towns of Melton Mowbray and Oakham eventually grew - and where our farmlet has been sited, since before the Doomsday book recordings. The place where it all began, where a dream was born, and an idea became a reality.
It seemed appropriate then, and remains so today, that we would look to our heritage, in terms of both the geographical location and the history of the people, when thinking of a suitable and enduring image for our company. Even today there is little public transport to the local market towns and it’s easy to envisage the women and men of the outlying villages living a hard won existence, totally reliant on the fruits of their own labour. More importantly, the very water used to make our soaps is drawn from a natural born spring, which in turn runs into that river.

Nestled away in our pretty English hamlet on the Leciestershire/Rutland border we began creating luxury handmade toiletries and blending wonderous botanical perfumes – not content with luxury alone, we wanted our wares to be skin kind and as ethically driven as possible – and so an ethos was born.
